PROPSPEED Stripspeed™ Propspeed Remover

Avoid the grind, use Stripspeed™. Remove Propspeed® & foul-release coatings hassle free!

Developed to help Propspeed applicators to prepare metal surfaces for reapplication, Stripspeed removes foul-release coatings in 30* minutes or less. The thick consistency easily hangs on vertical and overhead surfaces, making it easy to use and there is no mixing required. Stripspeed is non-flammable, non-caustic, DCM and NMP free. Unlike grinding or using abrasives, Stripspeed doesn’t cause mechanical wear through multiple refits, and doesn’t create toxic dusts or debris, increasing the lifetime of the metal.

Stripspeed is used in three easy steps: surface preparation, application, and removal. Applicators simply clean marine growth from the surface to be stripped and ensure it is dry. Cover the floor for easy cleanup and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Pour Stripspeed into a small container and brush a generous layer onto the coating to be removed. Wait for about 20-30 minutes, do a test patch, and then remove Stripspeed with a metal scraper / putty knife. For any tricky or hard to reach areas, use a brass wire brush or abrasive pad. Wash away any remaining residue with water and an abrasive pad or rag. For any stubborn Etching Primer spots left on the metal, use a Propspeed Propclean wipe. Now the metal surface is ready to be coated with the Propspeed system according to the Propspeed application process.

Stripspeed can be used on any metal surface where Propspeed, or similar running gear coating has been applied.

Stripspeed is available in 2 sizes: 5L / 1.32 gal bottle which will cover a surface of 10m2 / 107.6ft2, and 1L / 0.26 gal bottle which will cover a surface of 2m2 / 21.5ft2.

Comments about Stripspeed™ Propspeed Remover by Propspeed | boat maintenance at West Marine

Read and followed directions. Would only take a small layer off. Took so many reapplications that I ended up just sanding. Maybe the weather was too cold as it was sub 60ies?
