My local store carries a small amount of boat spark plugs. Ordering them online for store pickup is always the safe bet. They contact you when it is available for pickup. I did try to use an online discount code for this purchase, but the coupon was denied???

My 1998 40 HP, 2-stroke Mercury Mariner outboard has often had issues with stalling, starting up in the spring after being winterized, etc. I checked the spark plugs today and found that the plugs are surface gap plugs NGK BUZ8H. But in the maintenance manuals I have found online for the 1998 40 HP 2-stroke it recommends an NGK BP8H-N-10, which is a more traditional looking plug (with j-shape and a gap). Should I try the NGK BP8H-N-10 to see if they help with the performance problems?
