Since I purchased the Lowrance HDS LIVE in November 2022 it has not worked properly on 12 outing during my guide services. With this unit I purchased C-MAP REVEAL M-NA-Y211-MS, and Lowrance Point 1 GPS Module. After setting and saving all preferences and attributes on the unit, I am losing all each time I take the unit out to fish whether it be in the same area or a different river within the map limits. All attributes and settings are lost each time. Just to get the depth to display on the screen when using sonar mode, I have to reset that info display each time. Yes, reset or NO depth numbers appear. The map that comes up when turned on repeatedly using chart mode is unrecognizable or freezes until a reboot or another restart. The C-MAP REVEAL features, settings and attributers are lost each time the unit is turned on. This is an important tool for me when guiding clients. They sense my frustration and disappointment with the HDS LIVE setup. It left the factory defective. You should not have to update any software or operating system straight out of the box. It has been sent to Lowrance service center for eval and servicing at my expense of course.

I up graded from the 90's to the HDS 9 ! I really did not know what I was missing while fishing with my old unit. The clarity of this unit is amazing. I went over the good areas I have fished in the past and noticed I been fishing it wrong... just did not know until I was looking with my new HDS unit. More fun catching fish.

what transducer would you recommend for deep salt water fishing? i need to track the bottom to at least 1500ft

- Verified Reply - MaureenPer the vendor: "For that application, a low chirp transducer will be needed to give that type of depth. A good choice would be the SS175L, which is 1kw for better returns. The low chirp will only be good in 1500 plus feet of water. If you also fish in shallower water you may want to sacrifice the performance above 1500 and go with a medium chirp." Both of these, if available from the vendor, would have to be special ordered. Can the active 3 in 1 transducer and the livesight transducer be plugged into a single HDS live 9 units allowing the user to switch between sources?

- Verified Reply - MichaelLowrance has advised that the LiveSight transducer actually requires connection to both transducer ports, so you may only use one transducer or the other at a time.Was this answer helpful to you
