The letters "Ti" in the Elite-5 Ti name stands for "Touch interface," an intuitive new operating system that provides fast, fingertip access to all Elite-5 Ti features. Sporting a 5" diagonal, high-resolution multi-touch touchscreen display, Elite-5 Ti has your sonar needs covered with support for StructureScan® HD, Low/Med/High CHIRP and the optional TotalScan™ all-in-one transducer (sold separately). This unit is awesome for the price. And with a 100 dollar rebate you would be crazy not to go with this system. I have it on my 21 ft Nautic Star and it has helps me keep a good troll over wrecks to land Kings. If a fish comes under my boat... I'm gonna know it.

I bought my Elite 5 CHIRP combo unit 14 months ago. It has had limited use because I could never understand it and how to use it. I found it to be un-intuitive and over featured. Thankfully it has now stopped working so I dont need to fret over it any more. I long for my previous combo unit (NAVMAN)...

I have a Lowrance Elite-7 on boat now and love the unit. Have wanted to add second unit for different uses while on water and the Elite-5 Ti will fill the needs with added clarity and ease of use. Will add a transducer to my fishing kayak so I can take the Elite-5 Ti from Lake Erie boat to fishing kayak. Perfect size for a kayak combined with - ease of use - great vision - great clarity and multi screen windows. Have and will continue to recommend Lowrance to any and all friends and anyone else asking.

Down scan imaging is very clear. Structure is easily visible. GPS response time seems pretty spot on. Set up and using the unit is intuitive. A lot of people are saying another GPS mfgr is "easier to use" I find no difficulty with the Elite 5, and I like the ability to use my Nav+ unlike the other gps mfgr.

Is there an (in hull) transducer that will work for this unit, I don't like drilling holes in my sailboat.

- Verified Reply - West Marine Customer ServiceThe Elite 5 TiMed/High Downscan 000-12421-001 can run a 2D sonar transducer for in hull (000-0106-89) and it comes with a remote temperature, but an adapter is needed (000-13313-001). The transducer that comes with the Elite 5 TI is not good for in-hull because the downscan will lose image, 2D sonar in that transducer would be ok.Was this answer helpful to you

Will side scan work properly when installed in the POD on a wilderness ATAK 120 kayak. Or what do I need to do to ensure proper use. The POD is thru the hull, but I need to understand how far below the hull the transducer needs to extend to have effective sidescan. Thanks in advance.

The Lowarance "Elite-5 Ti Combo with DownScan Transducer & Basemap " West Marine # 17046723 would better suit a kayak. Can I hook the Elite 7Ti and the 5Ti together with a single thru hull transducer and still get the depth of 1000' to 1500' and run at the same time? If so what would transducer would work best at a 11 to 12 degree hull angle ? Thanks

My Unit is about 3 months old and was working ok. Now when it comes on it displays the power on screen and then screen goes blank. The unit still chirps when I push the page or MOB buttons but no screen view. Any suggestions to fix it?
