These Ancor Nylon Single Crimp Butt Connectors are made so you can rely on them to securely connect your vessel's electrical system.
Butt connectors are used to terminate wires safely or to connect one wire to another by inserting each wire into the connector and then crimping it.
Nylon insulators are a good choice because they are easy to crimp and won't split, making it necessary to add tape or to crimp on another terminal. The seamless barrels are designed to tightly grip the wire with the least effort.
Tinned copper is used for the conductor because it offers the least electrical resistance for maximum current flow, plus it resists corrosion from salt and moisture.

I will only use Ancor heat-shrink connectors on my boat, as I have them in some nasty places. I use them up under my center console, which will see humidity but not much other moisture, but where these connectors really shine is in my bilge area. Difficult to crimp properly and heat-shrink. I have had better results with regular connectors with marine heat shrink tubing. It is ok for interior electrical work, when wind or work space is not a concern.

I used these for my trailer lights and they work great. I add a little liquid tape and they work for years.
