Marine Sanitation
Meet USCG Regulations with Toilets and Sanitation Systems from West Marine.
All but the smallest of boats usually have a portable or a permanently installed marine toilet. If the toilet is permanently installed, the boat must also include a marine sanitation device (MSD) that satisfies Coast Guard regulations. MSDs include holding tanks that retain raw vessel sewage until it can be pumped out at a pump out facility and sewage treatment systems that neutralize sewage so it (unless you are in a no-discharge zone) can be pumped overboard. West Marine offers manual and electric toilets plus a full range of MSD system components and related items including low-permeation sanitation hose, macerators, waste pumps, Y-valves, marine toilet paper, tank monitors, toilet replacement parts and chemicals.
